A Letter to the Reader

Dear faithful reader,

Today I am writing to you directly. It blesses me to know that on the other side of other computer screens there are wonderful people reading what God lays on my heart. You, my friend, encourage me! Thank you!

Since the beginning of this new year I have increasingly felt the assurance that the current season of my life is ending and a new, adventurous, and challenging season is coming soon. I can’t exactly explain this assurance other than to describe it as a spiritual nudging on my heart. For the past few years as Christ has drawn me closer to Himself as His sanctified and surrendering daughter, I have pondered what He desires for and from me. He has taken me through countless lessons.

When I first caught the fire of passion for Him I was eager to go!

“Okay, Jesus! Let’s go! Where? What? When? I’m ready now!”

Yet in my presumed readiness, He seemed to always put on the brakes.

“Do you love Me?” He would ask.

“I do! Oh, I do!” I’d respond.

“Do you know Me?” He would ask next.

Deep down, I knew the answer. Although I had the zeal, I was without the training.

Christ made it clear to me that He was preparing me for an adventure that will glorify Him and require all of me. In my naivety I assumed this adventure must begin in the physical realm of going and doing. His ways are different, though. This adventure of His begins in the spiritual realm with the preparation of heart, attitude, will, and dreams. Yes, every season in life prepares us for the next. These past few years have been a preparation season full of waiting, patiently getting to know my Savior more, and allowing Him to exchange my life with His.

The actual going and doing of this great adventure is right around the corner. By fall of this year I will be done with college and face the next step in life. After spending almost my entire life planning a perfect future for myself, I now have no plans. Actually, I seem to be unable to plan at all. Rather, I’m living day to day for my King. I have no idea where I will be in a year, what I will be doing, or who I will be with and you know what? All of these unknowns are SO exciting! Jesus has it all figured out and I am confident that He will arrange and provide every detail! While He does so I will continue to seek Him, know Him, and surrender to Him.

As the seasons of life change I sincerely ask for your prayer and your partnership in faith. By individually surrendering ourselves to Christ and living set apart lives for His glory, we edify one another. Knowing that you are delving deeper with our Savior, serving Him, and allowing Him to prepare you for the adventure He has for you spurs me on. Know that I pray for you as well.

Let’s not waste time. We have the opportunity of this life – this day to glorify Him! I am thrilled to see the wonders He works through each of us as we live for Him alone!

Authentically His and yours,

Caitlin Stacy

“Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”

– Hebrews 13:20 & 21
