Rest in You;
That is all You ask I do.
Yet, in my hurry to please and fulfill,
I cease to rest in Your perfect will;
Your will that I know You more,
With every day’s smile and sore.
Although Your Word tells me to abide
Safely in Your fruitful vine,
Impatience wages within
Until I’m wandering into sin.
You are patient.
You are kind.
You wait for me to surrender,
One more time.
And when I do, Your Spirit greets me
With joy abundant and overflowing.
Now I can see that my best offering
Is to obey You when You say,
“Child, rest in me.”
“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.”

“Be still and know that I am God.”
